Our Story

In late 2021, Shivoh, a PhD student in AI Robotics, witnessed a moment that changed everything. An advanced robot dog, powered by AI, was tasked with picking up a box. But instead, it confidently grabbed a nearby table, mistaking it for the box. The mission was technically marked “successful,” but the robot had made a critical, unnoticed error. That moment revealed a hidden truth: robots can complete tasks and still get things fundamentally wrong, without anyone realizing it. As Shivoh continued his PhD research from 2021 to 2024, this question kept him awake at night:

“How can we independently verify what a robot actually did, and whether it made the right decisions for the right reasons?” From that question, RideScan was born. Early breakthroughs were shared at the University of Cambridge, Oxford’s Manipulation Workshop, the University of Edinburgh, and London Business School. What began as an academic pursuit became a mission to make autonomy safer, more transparent, and more reliable. After defending his PhD in 2024, Shivoh assembled a talented team and officially launched RideScan. Today, RideScan is supported by Silicon Valley accelerator YOPE, founded by Michael Baum, the creator of Splunk, the reliability platform for software that exited at $28B. Just like Splunk became the “reliability layer” for code, RideScan is becoming the reliability layer for robots, detecting subtle anomalies, monitoring real-world performance, and helping manufacturers build safer, smarter autonomous systems.

We’re just getting started. If you believe in building a future where robots are independently verified and trusted by design, join us. Whether you're a talented builder or a visionary investor, we’d love to hear from you.
